I’ll keep it short. My girlfriend and I walked into Papadeaux tonight. One very kind server named Jason greeted us with a huge smile and warm hearted welcome. (which we really appreciated ) and felt welcomed. (We are both deep rooted Houston Bartender/servers. 15 yrs/10 yrs)The bar had one single guest and a single service well ticket. Bartender walked back and forth talked to a server. Talked to the other guests. Asked “y’all want anything? We said waters. Went and talked to service well friend again. Made a drink and never bright the waters. We were there about 5 mins. We got up and the server asked why we were leaving. We said because she never brought our water and felt ignored. She literally hollers to the bartender “oh don’t worry girl! They wanted waters!” …well we also were about to drop like $200 on full 4 courses and two rounds of drinks for our date night. We are staying in a hotel near so thought it’d be cool. I worked for Papadeaux years ago. So very sad and disappointed. Actually embarrassing to have y’all’s employees yell not to worry about us literally in front of us, the staff, and the dining room. Harris and Chris should definitely check in here. That bartender on Thursday at 7:45 is the reason your bar is dead at 7:45 on Thursday in downtown Houston. We left and are having a great time next door at Saltgrass with extremely friendly welcome from hostess and sever. (The pic is us at Saltgrass)
